Vicky's adventures

When Bourgogne Goes Live at Complexe du Rire

Staying in the Burgundy Spirit I’ve packed my bag for a Vicky Wine Tasting in Lyon.
After the Parisian cellar, it was about time for my prefered wines to go on stage. At the Complexe du Rire they climbed, a well reputed comic theatre. After having hosted hundreds different artists, this 14th of April, it opened its door to atypical wine makers. Guillaume for the Bret Brothers, Vincent Gouffier for the Domaine Gouffier, and Loïc de Suremain for the Domaine de Suremain in Mercurey. But also interesting others wine and art lovers..
INDEED! South…I was not the only one to head! A team of happy Burgunds came down too:
  • The Bourgogne Live Men first, two fun entrepreneurs that followed their instinct in starting up what is already the  inevitable webzine for Burgundy. Everyday on Bourgogne Live, find news on wine, gastronomie and cultural events in the region. They started the adventure a few weeks ago (8 exactly) and are well ready to surprise you!

  • In the same coach was also Pascal Wagner, the legendary star from the Caves de L’Abbaye in Beaune. Pascal is a good musicien and entertainer, he host smany wine parties where he might give you the secret of tasting wines…Yes, I am going to Beaune soon ;)
  • We also had the chance to welcome Guillaume Bodin for the Bret Brothers that is also a passionate of film and terroirs. When he is not in the Bret Brothers vineyard, guillaume works on  Univers Dit Vin, a film project that will reveal the beauty and secrets of great terroirs.
  • Vincent Gouffiermusicien and wine lover, was already drinking Burgundy with us in Paris. He came to Lyon and felt like home in the theatre. On the stage to pour the wines, he finally ended up playing Pink Floyd with Pascal’s guitare. If you like Burgundy and music, come to the A.O.C studio near to the domaine Gouffier. Vincent has created a small paradise just for you!

  • Following close but under cover, was a producer of Mercurey that couldn’t help keeping up with his favorite wines.

After we had a few glasses, Pascal Wagner went on stage with his classic guitare and started…telling us the secret of how to taste a wine. “Chew wine as you chew an apple”, so that you’ll feel all the aromas, texture and might uncover the secret of wine.  Understanding what you drink takes time… but this might help you go a little faster. Everyone listened carefully and we suddenly had a room of chewing cows replacing the wine tasters ;) .

The Côte chalonnaise was at the honnor this night with two producer of Mercurey: de Suremain and Gouffier. As the domaine Gouffier also does a maraveillous Cremant… I thought it was better to try from them what the other didn’t show off.

Was also there the Bret Brothers whom I’ve been talking a few days ago here.

So in music we all sipped… and what was remembered is there for you. I’ll keep it short as I am planning on a visit in Mercurey soon. Keep track !

More on Burgundy soon !

Just for your health,
