When tired of the Parisian mindset, you need some Fresh air: it is when you should get ready for a Vintage moment. Run rue d’Argout, order some wine and a special Auvergne burger, take a deep breath and relax – It is chill, the music is good, waiters actually smile at you and… you are feeling much better? Of course, you are enjoying the Vintage Effect.

Now imagine a Vicky Vintage Effect. That is what happened the 11th of March with the Loire Valley wines. No Rugby tonight and no burgers, this is the wine hour! A huge platter of charcuterie was out to fill in the hungry out-of-work Vicky Wine Tasters. Slowly the place got wisely packed. A glass of wine after the other, the temperature warmed up and the party was on. Much much later, a bunch of Vicky Winers were resisting and would have deserved a fourth glass!

I particularly enjoy drinking Loire Valley wines and thought they matched the moment. Often wines of pleasure : crisp, fruity and light they are also diverse and hard to compare. In some, you can find a real depth.

On this occasion and together with Les Mois du Vin, I had carefuly selected 5 producers. Two of them, young and delicious, came along: Vincent for Le Clos Roussely and Sebastian for Le Château du Petit Thouars. You will find more on the selection on the following article.
