Olivier and Pierre-Yves Fichet are the king of the terroir of Igé in the south Burgundy, their wine “Château London” has the name of the oldest lieu dit in maconnais. That’s Francis their dad who first has quit the coop to take over the winemaking, mostly gamay and pinot noir. Today the domaine went from 22 acres to 60 acres and makes great chardonnays. That’s how I’ve spotted them! After a call for wines together with the maison des vins de Mâcon, the blind tasting of about 15 wines has put to Fichet wines on the podium. So I went to meet Olivier and went to choose the wines I preferred. Today, two wines are selected, whom one that arrived in all the Repaire de Bacchus wine shops in Paris. You’ll also be able to buy the wine in France on mon vigneron.com and in a selection of Paris and London restaurants. It’s always a pleasure to visit the Fichet, 30 kilometers away from our family vineyard in Fleurie !
