Vicky’s Pink Selection 2010

As the trend goes, because I love pink and style, I've decided to treat my favourite wine tasters with some of the top actual rosé. First the selection, how to pick 10 rosés on the market?  Not to say that I tried a hundred, the delicious "LE PLAISIR Rosé" from Mas Amiel for instance, didn't make it to the Indian Restaurant neither the good pink beaujolais but the summer has not started yet ;). While waiting, I received some of the top of Provence and hanged around wine shops for a few good looking bottles. It is common to say that the style of the bottle often hides the bad quality of the wine... So in black they were all...

Fashion Pink Trend is to be taken Seriously

AH ! The sun is back, Yes ! Let's talk about Rosé ! Rosé has long been considered like the garbage of wines, with little consideration from wine professionals. "It's a wine for women" you can hear or "Rosé you said? Let's talk about wine !". But everything must start one day and not so slowly, for your summer time and all year long, rosé is becoming a trend. Number talk by themselves,  rosé has the highest sale rise amongst other wines in France today. YES! Rosé is lucky to be democratised. You are not ashamed of picking a rosé without knowing about it and in our habits, it can easily replace a refreshing beer. That is maybe why it...

Love Pommard with Albert Bichot

Here I am, in Beaune. There I was in Beaune. These furtive stops in Burgundy remind me of the wonderful way Alberic Bichot welcomed us in his domaine in Pommard, Le clos des Ursulines. Yes, POMMARD, the sound of it is already poetry. This domaine represent 17Ha, and is one of the 4 of the Maison Albert Bichot. Nevertheless, this is the only one that is all organic. The sight of the vines and the hundred years old beautiful tank room can only make you want some of its wines ! Albert Bichot - A dear as a symbol since 1350, an interest in great wine since 1831. A reference in Burgundy with 100 Ha of delightful wines. And yesterday,...

Burgundy loves #Chardonnay @Twitter

Burgundy is getting excited: this is what happen when an old wine region gets on the new social media, when local gets global and learning becomes fun. What a good idea from Rick Backas in Napa, California to organize this Chardonnay Tweetup! Chardonnay is born in Burgundy where even a village takes its name. It is the region where the grape has its best expression, but everywhere in the world winemakers use it sometimes with great success. Thursday evening Beaune Time (8PM-10PM), it will be a super opportunity for wine lovers and wine drinkers in the entire world to talk and exchange their experience. Just follow the hashtag #Chardonnay and I will be translating the French into English @VickyWine. The...

Still Wines selectionPolgoon Rosé (Rondo): A fun wine with a bright strawberry color. Polgoon rosé is very ratypical for a French drinker. It tastes more like a red fruit water juice than a wine to me. But that would be perfect on a warm afternoon by the pool ;). How trendy would that look? John...
