Les vins de Vicky : America in Libourne #winesOfFrance

What a busy September, the harvest are late but the year has really started for most of us. Last Sunday I took the train to Libourne to meet my American friend Rick Bakas that I hadn’t seen for 3 years… when I travelled to the Napa Valley for the only and first time. Rick is a sommelier, he is also very involved in social media and communication, for wine and for other innovative companies. He was a great host in California and was one of the best supporters  of Miss Vicky Wine’s brand when it just started. I trust he still is today :)

Three years after, Rick is still the same. On the Wines of France Road, he introduced me to his fellow winelover’s on board with him. The dinner was around Vicky’s Wines and food pairing, a good moment to share.

Fleurie from Vicky is the only Vicky’s wines available in the US, this one from my dad has a good light body, fine flavours of cherries flowers and spices. It’s minerality makes it great on Oysters too :o )

A the table also sat the Beaujolais-Villages that charmed everyone by it’s sexy fruit. Most surprisingly I discovered the new friends around the table were not so familiar with Bordeaux Rosé and Clairet, but the bottle was empty at the end of the dinner ;) . The rosé was perfect as a starter, very dry and fresh with a luminous color and raspberries flavours.

Thanks for inviting me at your table! It was delicious to meet you Lana, Jamie & friends, and to see you again Rick!
