“Death at the Château Bremont”, the perfect summer read!

On rainy days, it’s all okay when you have a good book to entertain you (or a good boyfriend). Even better if the sun shows in this book, even greater if the book comes with wine and of course a love story (it all works too with a boyfriend).

Showers and clouds in Paris for most of July, they say we had the summer for spring, it seemed just as if one season was missing! August is coming up with warm promises… and the week is starting well! It remind  me “Death at the Château Bremont” a mistery set around a crime in beautiful Provence. Words after words, it matches perfectly the feelings I had on my last trip in Provence … overall, it’s a real scent of holiday!

Death at the Château Bremont is set up in Provence and has a certain talent for describing its landscape. Of course you can’t miss the complicated love story between the sensitive characters, the charismatic judge Verlaque, something of a sensitive but very selfish man and the heartbroken and beautiful Marine Bonnet, an ex of Verlaque but also a talented law professor.

One death at the château could have looked accidental but then came a second one. Mafia, house workers, family relations, heritage and gamble, the puzzle finally get together giving you to reflect of the gap between appearances and reality in what is perceived to be good or bad in the human being.

A simple and entertaining summer read, with wine, mystery, châteaux, cicadas and a kiss ;)

“Set in charming and historic Aix-en-Provence, France, Death at the Château Bremont introduces readers to Antoine Verlaque, the handsome and seductive chief magistrate of Aix, and his on-again, off- again love interest, law professor Marine Bonnet. When local nobleman Etienne de Bremont falls to his death from the family château, the town is abuzz with rumors. Verlaque suspects foul play and must turn to Marine for help when he discovers that she had been a close friend of the Bremonts. This is a lively whodunit steeped in the rich, enticing, and romantic atmosphere of southern France.”
