Vicky's adventures

2/2 – Tendance Printemps Ete 2010 – Wine, Food and Fun Events in PARIS

When there is wine, there can be food. And usually pairings are an enigma for most of us.  This past few months, it raised more and more interest and became a real source of inspiration and entertainment.
From what I have experimented, they sometimes happen to create magical sensorial experience too. I remember a raspeberry cake with a sip of Bordeaux Clairet from Château Lestrille. The Clairet and the bouchée were reasonably good, but together on the palate, they created a moment in Heaven for my papillae.

#Soirée STREET FOOD du M.I.A.M @Batofar The TOP of street food and WINE Paring

Picture from Say Who
The batofar is a boat on the Seine, that developed an original concept by mixing all type of sensorial experiences: DJ sets and image projection, restaurant, and a river sight that could make you eyes tear… From the dock, you feel you are at the gate of a new world, that may let you fly just like Peter Pan.
Sometimes, the MIAM, an epicurian free newspaper, organises Street Food events that I am now addicted to. They are experimental food and wine pairing for everyone at very small price.
Without any pretension and with a very adventurous spirit, the Street Food Burger night was gathering all what I love: original and yummy chief’s burgers and my favorite Alsace Pinot Noir from Domaine Blanck. From a corner to the other, smells were leading you to the burger of your dream, that a nice glass of wine sublimated in a sip. Fantastic, Wondeful, One advice: just go, bite and sip!
When: Soon again, and already twice this year first with Burgers & Cie, then with Fish and Fries
Where: Batofar, port de la gare, 75013, Paris.
Offers:
- Buy tickets and switch them for street food or a glass of wine. From 9 euros for a couple of tickets.
- Enjoy the minimal music experience and the river sight

#Afterwork CHATEAUONLINE and ATELIER GUY MARTIN

It is easy to imagine how hard it can be for an ecommerce website to sell wine. Impossible to taste, impossible to sniff, the whole sensorial experience is reduced to words and pictures. However, it is a good way to have a broad wine selection at competitive prices.

So… websites stay alive, don’t give up and even allow you to extend the experience. From monthly registration to receive sample with Les Mois du Vin to the wine tastings of Vente à la Propriété, there is always an original idea. The last one is born with Chateau online… when they proposed their selection at the Atelier Guy Martin.

I had a fun experience and found it a great way to have a sip of Chateau Online selection. After a hard working day, i met the joint team of cooks and winos and learnt how to make a Maurician roll or a tartare while sipping the appropriate new world wine. I  particularly liked the Sauvignon blanc from Saint Clair Winery (Malborough, New Zealand) with the Maurician Roll.

This was healthy, fresh and crisp – educational, fun and delicious. Guy Martin is a twice starred chef (Grand Véfour, Paris) and Chateau online a reference in the ecommerce wine industry in France- Why should I be surprised? Why shouldn’t you try?

When: On Wednesday evening
Where: Atelier Guy Martin, 35 rue de Miromesnil, 75008
Offers: For 35 euros, learn how to make 4 different dishes and share for each time a different glass of wine from Chateau Online.
