GUESS WHAT!
The European Wine Blogger’s Conference is announcing its 2010 location in Vienna, Austria, on October 22-24!winebloggersconference.org, European Wine Bloggers Conference, Feb 2010
Last Octobre in Lisbon, for the second European Wine Blogger’s Conference (EWBC), I was one of the only French wine blogger to enjoy the delicious wines and taste the incredibly good food. I also was part of the beautiful trips through vineyards and attended the many wine & web conférences. I discovered, learnt from and partied hard with the 120 others happy participants from all over the globe. And it was amazing.
Philippe Hugon from Vinternet, Melanie Tarlant for Champagne Tarlant, Ivo Pages with his Pirata Especial and a few other Frenchies agreed with me. Where were the French? How can such an old, renoun and proud, country such as France, not be more represented abroad in what it does best: Wine.
That is because we only look a our belly buttons, can’t read English, forget that wine is something global and think everything is fine if we keep up that way. Because we are the best anyway. I desagree.
Let’s move, show what we do and who we are – Let’s all go to beautiful Vienne next October for the 3rd European Wine Blogger’s Conference.
I will be there with my favorite wine,
And hope to not be the only one around with a French accent.
Come drink in Vienne with us!
- This is made just for you -

n. b. Not all French wine bloggers have French accents
Well, the thing is most bloggers are amateurs and going to such events has a cost... Besides, as a wine blogger, I much prefer paying myself a trip to the vineyards rather than to salons or whatever kinds of crowded gatherings.
@Ryan, Ahahha, I wondered if you'd react! I am sure that if you work on it your accent can sound like very cute French.
@Fabrice, The more of us will go, the less expensive it will be. And I find the price already very reasonable. Second, there are some amazing vineyard's visits in the package, it is far from being just a salon. But I understand that if you have a family it can be hard to leave your wife and kids behind...
Eve, who's been doing http://winebrands.com for quite a long time was there, too.
@randulo, Yes of course! Thanks for notifying. Unfortunatly, I didn't get the chance to meet her properly.
@Vicky thanks for the kind comments about the EWBC and I'm elated that you'll be going this year.
@Fabrice Allow me to take off my marketing hat for a moment and put on my wineblogger hat. As a wineblogger, I want quality information, great networking opportunities and a serious and educational atmosphere if I'm going to attend an event. Time is money, which is why I'm completely sympathetic to your concerns. However, we organize the EWBC with your specific hesitations in mind. So far, we've attracted very serious bloggers who are intent on learning, sharing, and growing as a writer, a social media innovator and wine expert. This is also why we have chosen to keep numbers low and to attend regions that are relatively unknown. The only suggestion I can offer you is to give us a try, just once. You may be surprised by what you take out of it! And beyond all else, we'd love to meet you!
Thank you Gabriella! Buzz me if you happen to be in France before. VW
