Burgundy is getting excited: this is what happen when an old wine region gets on the new social media, when local gets global and learning becomes fun.
The French crew is getting ready with Bourgogne Live spreading the word all around the region. We are waiting for the regional TV Crew France 3 Bourgogne, some journalists, and bloggers. Ready? TWEET !
During the Vicky Bourgogne Live Tasting last month, I have met Pascal Wagner. He is an artist and a wine encyclopedia with legs. His middle age wine cellar, Les Caves de L’Abbaye, and warm personnality will be perfect to celebrate Chardonnay.
OLIVIER LEFLAIVE: Pascal and Oliver met at “ La Table d’Olivier Leflaive” in Puligny Montrachet. Olivier, like Pascal, is an artist and it is what we will see in his chardonnay from Chablis to Chassagne Montrachet this Thursday. In 2008, he also created La Maison d’Olivier Leflaive and its 13 bedrooms that already pleased more than one wine lover. With such a success, he was honored with the first price for oenotourism last year.
BERNARD VAN BERG is a photographer and a nature lover but overall a humanist. He has some vines in Burgundy that are not renown for their virtues but from whom he extracts great wines. He believes in the vines he chooses and treat them like his children, with care and exigency.
Based in Meursault, his wines “Le vin, tout simplement” (Simply Wine) are well thought with a special attention to the culture. Wine making is an art that he definitely knows well ! More soon after we’ve tweet the Fourneau 2007, are you ready to live the experience?
NICOLAS BERNARD et VERONIQUE BONIN are not yet on the Internet where they will mark their first print Thursday. Veronique is from families of great wine makers in Burgundy so it is not surprising that the couples make quality Mersault an Puligny Montrachet. The wines are naturals and pure, with a minimalist interaction of the wine maker to let the fantastic terroir come through in the wine. I am very excited to try their selection on Thursday !
